ABOUT GECP

Project management

GECP is the company of Björn Warmerdam.

After completing secondary and higher nautical education, Björn worked for many years on the tramp as a maritime officer. After many years of sailing as a mate and engineer, he decided to go ashore to further develop his career. In a short time, he set up a successful service department for a well-known crane supplier in the shipping and offshore industry.

The next port of call was a machine and plant builder with great potential. Within this group, he worked his way up from service manager to managing director. The company is active in port transhipment and recycling in the broadest sense. As managing director, Björn was responsible for the development and standardisation of the plant construction for, among others, the recycling activities at home and abroad. Under his inspiring leadership, the recycling branch of the company experienced tremendous growth and became a well-established player in the international recycling business, with several branches worldwide. In line with market developments, multidisciplinary projects became the new standard.

At a French multinational, a world leader for of industrial engineering, Björn expanded his knowledge and expertise even further. Living and working in the south of Germany, he managed to set up a successful German branch within two years, which involved restructuring and a lot of effort. This led to him even being allowed to move to the southern French headquarters to lead a completely new department with his experience and positive energy. As the person responsible for alternative processing methods, including recycling and bottom ash processing, he set up numerous new pre-separation and sorting plants. Many of his ideas were sold and are now used worldwide.

In 2021, Björn started his own company, GECP, to be able to assist and guide other international players in the field of recycling, plant construction and raw materials processing. Björn has a positive attitude towards life and sees opportunities. He likes (technical and commercial) challenges and is a people person.

His motto: problems are there to be solved.
